    Remington 521T

    Remington 521T
I was looking for a .22 for my granddaughter. I all set to go with a new CZ. I stopped in a local gun shop. They had a 521T in great condition like new not shot much. It was the end of the day(closing time). I put deposit on it and will pick it up in the morning

    UPDATE
Just a couple quick pic's Point & Shoot

All she needs is a good cleaning and the 521T will be ready for the range.
The bolt still has the original case coloring and red paint on the firing pin. A good sign that she has not been shot much.

Beautiful rifle. You are giving your grand-daughter an excellent start on a hobby she can enjoy for a lifetime. The very first time I ever fired a rifle at a range (National Guard Armory), I fired a similar Rem. rifle.

    Thanks
This one was too nice to pass up. The 521 will make a good rifle for her. It was the model that was a cross between a target version and a hunting version. It's really close to the 513T without the bull barrel, front globe sight and lighter stock. I have a military version 513T. With the lighter barrel it will be good rifle for my granddaughter. Not sure if I'll scope the rifle it has notches on the receiver for the weaver rings so the rings will go on without issues. This 521T is one of the last ones in the 500 series dates to 1968. It's getting tough to find these in good condition and not molested.

I can not abide useless people.

Nice looking .22 Jim. And I like that rear sight. Is it a Lyman?

    Thanks
    Good eye
It's a Lyman 57RS sight. The 57RS is the original rear sight shipped with the 521-T.

    Thnaks
Time will tell how accurate the rifle is. It should be a good shooter. Maybe this weekend or next week I can get to the range.

She likes the rifle. So far I did not tell her it belongs to her. I'll wait until the rifle is test fired and all cleaned up. Every now and then I spoil her. She is a good kid. My Granddaughter helps my wife with stuff around the house. I use the carrot and stick theory. Do good things, you may get a carrot. Do bad things You may get the stick or nothing. She knows how that theory works.
