we hiked up to the top of pisgah today. it was a fine day for a hike, but annabelle isn't too keen on "posing" while the old dude tries to get a pic!

It doesn't get much better than that.
A beautiful spot away from the city and all the hustle, and your dog at your side to have for a companion during the day.
    Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the great photos. I never get tired of seeing the amazing beauty of this country. Other countries have a beauty of their own, but none compare to the variety of what America has to offer all of us, year round.
Coming from Michigan, I've learned to appreciate the beauty of 4 completely different seasons. Michigan has it all. From open hard wood forests and woods, to the flat plains of the Saginaw Bay region, and the pine forests for the northern part of the Lower Peninsula. Then you cross the Straits of Mackinaw and you're into rocky rolling foot hills with Basalt of many different colors. With the 4 major Great lakes surrounding Michigan, it has more coastline than any other state in the country and more coastline than most other countries have all together.
Idaho has everything from high mountain deserts to the foothills of the Rockies.
We have the Snake River Gorge, the Coeur d'Alene's, and the Selkirk mountains.
We have one of the largest stretches of land between highways without any interruption. The Bob Marshalls are here and the river of no returns as well.
Where I live, I can't go more than 500 feet in any direction without being able to see a mountain.

I've been to Phoenix, and to see the mountains to the south and the west is just stunningly beautiful. In the evening the mountains glow red from the sunsets. To see a King Palm standing 150 feet tall with the breeze rifting thru them against a cloudless cobalt blue morning sky is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
The Blue Ridge Parkway, that winds for hundreds of miles without a city or a billboard put up to block the views. The view changes every ten feet. They say it'll take nearly a month to walk it from one end to the other. My guess is that it'll take an entire lifetime to gather in all the views that nature offers to the visitors there.
America has Stone Mountain, Mt. Baldy Montana, Devils Tower, and the Badlands.
I've never been to the West Coast for more than a few minutes here and there. US-5 winds from Mexico to the Canadian border and everything in between.

I can't take it all in.

We live in the greatest country on the planet. Let’s stick together, and keep it that way.

    Regards,
    Gregory
