Could that be where the term "hot off the press" came from?

    Quite a rig.

    How deep are your pockets?
My dad has $10,000 in that model he built, and that was with him doing most of the work himself.
Original engines bring big bucks these days. Last year a little 18/56 Woods sold at auction over at Centerville Iowa for $32,000 and it needed more than a little work done on it. Including 2 or 3 places on the boiler that would need cut out and replaced within the next few years.
A really good condition original engine would probably cost you $50,000 plus these days.

If you really are interested in traction engine, here is a good place to start looking.

When I was little, there was an old fellow in the house at the entrance to the dirt road to our house, who had old hit and miss gas engines that he would periodically bring out and run. I would stand and watch that for hours. The only thing that captivates me as much as the old gas and steam engines is when I hear a radial engine approach overhead. Thanks for sharing!

The old poppers can be fun. Have a look at the clip below.
