When I was kid my uncle had his engine (a 21/65 Case) at the county fair.
There was a tractor pull going on and some of the good old boys were making fun of Claude and his "antique" hunk of cast iron.
So he ran his engine over there and signed up for the tractor pull. When he was done with them no one was laughing.
Back then they didn`t have the fancy progressive sleds they have today, just an old drag sled.
They put their two biggest tractors and all the sandbags they had on the sled. That old Case didn`t even slow down (not that it`s able to go very fast)
When Claude got bored with dragging the sled around he unhooked the cable, told them to bring his trophy over to him when they got done, and drove off.
My dad and Claude both had their engines at the fair the following year. (dad had a full size 22/70 Woods back then)
Neither were invited to join in the tractor pull that year.
I still get a chuckle out that memory after more than 40 years.
