Pics of my late Father and his buddies, post WWII

I found these pics today, I would assume they were carrying 1911s?

Great Pics, Duke.....I'd say they were carrying 1911's, with the old military flap-holsters.

Wow! Love the photos, God Bless him. If those photos were mine, they would be in frames and proudly displayed.

Great photos. I'm sure most, if not all the guys in the photos were carrying 1911's. There might have been an M&P or 2 in the collection, but not too likely. It's hard to always tell with the flip top holsters. My father carried a 1911 on his side thru his time in the Pacific during WWII. I think he was an [SP] for a short time of his duty. He was a Marine, and I can't remember what they called them, MP's or SP's.
Pictures from that era are becoming harder and harder to come across. Thanks for sharing them.

Thank you all for being so appreciative gentlemen, those pictures were so small, like 1.5"x2" I had to scan them at 1600dpi.
Here is one I found many years ago that was big enough to blow up to hang on the wall.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing! I'd put them all together in one frame.

Maybe if you brought them to a photo studio, they could enlarge them? They work miracles with photos. I would give it a shot, it would be so worth it.

    Great old pictures!

Looks like they do have Colt 1911 .45 pistols.
