I was going thru the warehouse looking at what's there and I decided it is time for us to start a "Deal of the Day". This, of course, is assuming I find the time each day to do this, lol. We buy lots of demos, close-outs and assorted deals and sometimes we buy demos from a few different shows and wind up with enough to offer crazy cheap deal on something awesome.

Todays deal is a demo of a great binocular:

Demo Unit - Steiner 10x42 Predator Xtreme #2581 for only $299.99
These binoculars are in their original boxes with all supplied accessories and are in as new condition.

Increase your odds for success in the field with this powerful 10x42 roof prism binocular. Larger 42mm objective lenses, ergonomic design and waterproof construction make it the choice for serious hunters. Start hunting like predator and equip yourself with Steiner's proven CAT (Color Adjusted Transmission) technology that lets you see deer and other game before they see you.

NEW CAT (COLOR ADJUSTED TRANSMISSION) LENS TECHNOLOGY
The latest generation of Predator Xtreme binoculars utilize new lens coating technology to deliver the highest levels of contrast and light transmission. The result is bold color contrast between game animals and their surroundings. Using Steiner's unique Color Adjusted Transmission lens coatings filters layers of incoming light to add contrast at the peak human sensitivity range. This gives you the ability to penetrate deeper into the woods or leafy environments to spot game.

EXTREMELY RUGGED CONSTRUCTION
Don't worry about your Predator Xtreme holding up under rugged use in the field. Under the outer armor lies a high-tech, lightweight, cast magnesium alloy chassis that delivers unrivalled durability. This material makes the housing even more shockproof and rugged. The benefit to hunters and outdoorsment is less weight and a more compact design.

CLOSE-FOCUS ADJUSTMENT
Focusing on objects, near or far away, is quick and smooth due to the Fast Close-Focus knob. From 6.5 ft. to infinity, sharp images are quickly acquired with minimum turning of the knob. The focus knob is easy to adjust even when wearing thick gloves in cold weather.

TWIST-UP EYECUPS
The Twist-up eyecups with side guards ensure brighter images by blocking incidental light from the side. They can be adjusted to three positions to provide the best eye relief for people wearing eye glasses or sunglasses.

NBR-LONG LIFE RUBBER ARMORING
Rough weather, cold temperature, dust and dirt can assault your binoculars during normal field use. Our NBR-Longlife rubber armoring will withstand all this abuse and more. This special formulation is not only extremely durable, it provides a sure grip, in cold and heat, rain, rain and sun, and even saltwater. The rubber composite should is soft and non-slip, making it comfortable to hold, yet it is resistant to oil, acid, and other harsh substances. Our new NBR-Longlife rubber armoring will greatly extend the life of your binoculars.

NITROGEN PRESSURE FILLING via 2-WAY-VALVE SYSTEM
Steiner binoculars incorporate a unique two-way valve system that purges the interior of the binocular of any oxygen or humid air. This creates a vacuum prior to filling with dry nitrogen that prevents fogging or the formation of condensation inside the binoculars. Only this method fully guarantees an absolutely condensation-free use of the binocular due to changes in temperature and altitude. Even extreme temperatures will not have any effects on the functionality of our nitrogen-filled binoculars. The unique 2-way-valve technology also makes inspection, service and maintenance possible even after years of use.

CLICLOC STRAP ADJUSTMENT
The ClicLoc strap attachment is a Steiner exclusive that make sure your binoculars always remain firmly attached to the strap. The ClicLoc strap attachment system also makes for removal quick at the click of a button.

STANDARD ACCESSORIES
This model comes with rain protection covers that are waterproof and prevent dust or dirt from accumulating on the lenses. Depending on the model, Predator Xtreme binoculars come with either neoprene or plastic ocular lens covers. Objective lens covers and hard carrying case are standard as well.

Once again, I've received something in the email that I think worthy of sharing here. Special thanks to Gary who is living temporarily in Nevada whose real home is up in Gearcheckers neighborhood.

I can't add any more words to this. It speaks for it self.

Have a BLESSED sunny day,

As I came out of the supermarket that sunny day, pushing my cart of groceries towards my car, I saw an old man with the hood of his car up and a lady sitting inside the car, with the door open. The old man was looking at the engine. I put my groceries away in my car, and continued to watch the old gentleman from about twenty five feet away.

I saw a young man in his early twenties with a grocery bag in his arm walking towards the old man. The old gentleman saw him coming too, and took a few steps towards him.

I saw the old gentleman point to his open hood and say something. The young man put his grocery bag into what looked like a brand new Cadillac Escalade. He then turned back to the old man. I heard him yell at the old gentleman saying: 'You shouldn't even be allowed to drive a car at your age.' And then with a wave of his hand, he got in his car and peeled rubber out of the parking lot.

I saw the old gentleman pull out his handkerchief, and mop his brow as he went back to his car and again looked at the engine. He then went to his wife and spoke with her; he appeared to tell her it would be okay. I had seen enough, and I approached the old man. He saw me coming and stood straight, and as I got near him I said, 'Looks like you're having a problem.'

He smiled sheepishly, and quietly nodded his head. I looked under the hood myself, and knew that whatever the problem was, it was beyond me. Looking around, I saw a gas station up the road, and I told the old man that I would be right back. I drove to the station and went inside. I saw three attendants working on cars. I approached one of them, and related the problem the old man had with his car. I offered to pay them if they could follow me back down and help him.The old man had pushed the heavy car under the shade of a tree and
appeared to be comforting his wife. When he saw us he straightened up and thanked me for my help. As the mechanics diagnosed the problem (overheated engine), I spoke with the old gentleman.

When I shook hands with him earlier, he had noticed my Marine Corps ring and had commented about it, telling me that he had been a Marine too. I nodded and asked the usual question, 'What outfit did you serve with?'

He said that he served with the first Marine Division at Guadalcanal , Pelieliu, and Okinawa . He had hit three of the worst ones, and retired from the Corps after the war was over. As we talked we heard the car engine come on and saw the mechanics lower the hood. They came over to us as the old man reached for his wallet, but was stopped by me. I told him I would just put the bill on my AAA card.

He still reached for the wallet and handed me a card that I assumed had his name and address on it, and I stuck it in my pocket. We all shook hands all around again, and I said my goodbye's to his wife.

I then told the two mechanics that I would follow them back up to the station. Once at the station, I told them that they had interrupted their own jobs to come along with me and help the old man. I said I wanted to pay for the help, but they refused to charge me. One of them pulled out a card from his pocket, looking exactly like the card the old man had given to me. Both of the men told me then that they were Marine Corps Reserves. Once again we shook hands all around and as I was leaving, one of them told me I should look at the card the old man had given to me. I said I would and drove off.

For some reason I had gone about two blocks, when I pulled over and took the card out of my pocket and looked at it for a long, long time. The name of the old gentleman was on the card in golden leaf and under his name was written: 'Congressional Medal of Honor Society.'I sat there motionless, looking at the card and reading it over and over. I looked up from the card and smiled to no one but myself and marveled that on this day, four Marines had all come together because one of us needed help. He was an old man all right, but it felt good to have stood next to greatness and courage, and an honor to have been in his presence.

Remember, as we approach another Memorial Day, OLD men like him gave you, and all of us, FREEDOM for America .

Thanks to those who served and still serve, and to all of those who supported them, and who continue to support them.America is not at war. The U.S. Military is at war. America is at the Mall.

If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE feel free to stand in front of them! Remember, Freedom isn't Free. Thousands have paid the price, so that you can enjoy what you have today.

LET'S DO THIS: JUST 19 WORDS:

GOD OUR FATHER, WALK THROUGH MY HOUSE AND TAKE AWAY ALL MY WORRIES; AND PLEASE WATCH OVER AND HEAL MY FAMILY; AND PLEASE PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS, AND WATCH OVER OUR TROOPS, WHO ARE DEFENDING THOSE FREEDOMS. AMEN

This prayer is so powerful.

******************

Personal note from NWDave: I haven't checked to verify the authenticity of this and really don't care to.
Something like this lends itself to a lesson in life. Could it be true? Sure could.
Something similar happened to me, many years ago. We (husband, wife, 5 year old daughter and a 12 month old son) were returning to the States via Charleston S.C. (where I picked up my shipped car) from tour in Germany. It was January and as we tried to make our way west, a storm hit that really messed up the roads. I discovered that many in the south don't know how to put chains on a car, so one service station attendant got a lesson in this timely skill for exchange to put the car on the lift (to make it easier for me). Somewhere along about Ft Smith, the car started developing mechanical problems. I pulled into a shop, late at night. They stayed open late to get me back on the road. They refused payment. I asked why and they said they saw my USAEUR license plates and after chatting with my wife, knew we were just trying to get home (Washington State) for a belated Christmas. My wife eventually told me that several of the "mechanics" were active duty at a nearby base who had part-time jobs in the shop. Over the years, I've forgotten their names but their help to a young family will never be forgotten. I like to think that this is one of those bricks in my character foundation that helped me to become one of those who pays it forward.

Yes, it could certainly be true.

A special prayer for the 58,000 + who never returned from the jungles of South East Asia and to countless wounded warriors who did return to the land of the big BX, in body perhaps but left a lot more back in the jungle.

I'm thinning the herd a bit and am offering this gently used 657 with the box and papers. As shown in the photos somebody taped a label on the face of the box at one time. This gun has a wonderful light and smooth double action trigger and a light and crisp single action pull. I'm not sure if it's factory or the benefit of some smithing as I've never had a reason to remove the side plate. Also pictured is a letter from Roy ( not a letter for this actual gun) that gives the approximate ship date on this series of revolvers. As pictured the gun comes with the factory round butt combat stocks. The gun is as fine as can be and the grips have a few very small rubbed spots in the finish near the butt. Hardly worth mentioning but due to the high value of these stocks I don't want anybody to be dissapointed. I'm looking for $1250 shipped from my FFL to yours. Not really looking for any trades at this time. I'm in western PA and am willing to meet at an FFL for a face to face also.<a href="http://www.smithandwessonforums.com/forum/attachments/wts-wtb-wtt-firearms-only-please-read-rules/18914-wts-s-w-657-3-dscn2781.jpg" title="Name:

Ye Can't Fool a Scottish Caddy............

During his golfing vacation at Martha's Vineyard -
President Obama had
been slicing off the tee on every hole.

He asks his Scottish caddy if he has noticed any
obvious reasons for his
poor tee shots, to which the caddy replies:

"Aye, there's a piece of shyt on the end of yer driver. "

The President picks up his driver and cleans the club
face, at which point
the caddy says:

"No, the other end."

My laptop has a virus and will barely function at all ....

A young businessman had just started his own firm. He rented a beautiful office and had it furnished with antiques.

Sitting there, he saw a man come into the outer office. Wishing to appear the hot shot, the businessman picked up the phone and started to pretend he had a big deal working.

He threw huge figures around and made giant commitments. Finally he hung up and asked the visitor, ""Can I help you?""

The man said, ""Yeah, I've come to activate your phone lines."

A Stanford Medical research group advertised for participants in a study of obsessive-compulsive disorder.

They were looking for therapy clients who had been diagnosed with this disorder.

The response was gratifying; they got 300 responses the day after the ad came out.

All from the same person.

A doctor and a lawyer were talking at a party.

Their conversation was constantly interrupted by people describing their ailments and asking the doctor for free medical advice.

After an hour of this, the exasperated doctor asked the lawyer, "What do you do to stop people from asking you for legal advice when you're out of the office?"

"I give it to them," replied the lawyer, "and then I send them a bill."

The doctor was shocked, but agreed to give it a try.

The next day, still feeling slightly guilty, the doctor prepared the bills.

When he went to place them in his mailbox, he found a bill from the lawyer.

A woman and her little girl were visiting the grave of the little girl's grandmother.

On their way through the cemetery back to the car, the little girl asked, "Mommy, do they ever bury two people in the same grave?"

"Of course not, dear." replied the mother, "Why would you think that?"

"The tombstone back there said, 'Here lies a lawyer and an honest man.'"

Did you know that heaven and hell are actually right next to each other?

They are separated by a big chain-link fence. Well, one day hell was having a big party and it got a little out of hand. God heard the ruckus and arrived to find his fence completely smashed by the wild partiers.

He called the devil over and said "Look, Satan, you have to rebuild this fence." Satan agreed.

The next day God noticed that the devil had completely rebuilt the fence...but it was 2 feet further into heaven than before.

"Satan!" beckoned God. "You have to take that fence down and put it back where it belongs!"

"Yeah? What if I don't?" replied the devil.

"I'll sue you if I have to," answered God.

"Sure," laughed Satan. "Where are you going to find a lawyer?"

Regards ,
George

Really like the BIG white dot on the front sight, the wide notch rear (without the 2 distracting extra white dots on the rear sight) and the slim stocks/grips.

and of course the 38 Super part..
