What I would like to see

I have always had a secret fetish for the 10mm Auto cartridge, and I dearly love Smith and Wesson revolvers. What I would like to see S&W make is something along the lines of the M&P R8

    Product: Model M&P R8

But as a 6 shot 10mm/40S&W (Ala the 610) instead. It would make a perfect woods/truck/open carry gun for me.

WOW, you love brutal punishment don't you? The 10mm in a semi-auto pistol is a handfull already.
You could go to a S&W 44 magnum or a 44 special revolver with better ballistics.
I understand the desire for something a bit different, but the 10mm is already headed to be an orphan round.
You'd certainly need to buy a whole bunch of supplies and do your own reloading. 10mm is terribly expensive already.
It'll get worse as it goes by the wayside.
Why not just carry a 10mm pistol? They're not too hard to find, and there are some excellent holsters that you could use for woods carry. You'd also have the advantage of the higher ammo count in the pistol.

I applaude you for your wish list. It's better than anything I could think of.

The average response time for 911 is 20 min., the average response time for .357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

You make good points, gearchecker. I think of a 10mm/40 as similar to a .357/38 arrangement. I just think it would be a neat gun mainly, and I do have a Glock 20 SF or Gen4 on my "middle" list to acquire at some point. I'm too busy with other projects right now...
