I have a Walther PPS 9mm. Awesome, very small and it's still a nine.
We had a Ruger LCP and for a 380 I think it's one of the better sub-compact 380's, after a laser is put on it.
The P3AT is nearly identical to the LCP, but without the slide lock.
We have a SIG P238. Except for being very expensive for a sub-compact pistol, it's the best of it's class.
I'm still not convinced on the Bodyguard 380. It's still going thru growing paings.

Too many choices and never enough money.

    Regards,
    Gregory

I own a PPK, PP and a Kahr. I also have an LCP which was preceeded by a Kel-Tec. My wife claims I accesorize a much as she does. On those hot summer days at work wearing a sport shirt and slacks sometimes the LCP is all I can get away with. Heavier firepower and extra ammo are in the console of my vehicle. Off work in the summer I often wear a colored T-shirt overlaid by an unbuttoned colorful top. On my belt will be a 3 inch or longer wheelie.

Well the decision has been taken out of my hands, so to speak. A Friend of mine called me tonight with a Computer Problem, went over there and chased a virus and some Mal-ware on his Desktop and his Wife's Laptop. Took me about 2 1/2 hours to clean them up. It was a nasty one, it looked like all of his personal files were gone, but for $29.95 he could download their program and it would get them back for him. I have seen this one before, but it is a bugger to remove. We got talking about guns in general and I mentioned that I was interested in a small 380 or 9mm that would be easier to conceal. "Pocket Rocket" His Wife walked in on the conversation and said her Sister had a S&W Bodyguard that she wanted to sell. She gave her Sister a call and told her to bring it over. I looked it all over and it looked Brand new! She said she had run about 20 rounds through it and it worked like a charm. I asked her why she wanted to sell it, she replied that her Boy Friend talked her into a Glock 9mm because he convinced her that a 380 does not have enough power. I tried to tell her that was a load of crap, but she had already bought a Glock. Well to make a long story short I ended up buying if from her for $225 minus $50 that my friend kicked in for fixing their computers. Going over tomorrow to pick it up as I did not have any RI060's with me. So for $175 out of my pocket and 2 1/2 hours of my time I will take my chances with the S&W Bodyguard 380. As soon as I get to the range I will let you know how it performs.

RD you fell in, and came out smellin' like a Rose this time. Perfect timing.
Let us know how the BG works for you. You should find out when it was made (hopefully it's the latest generation model), and see if it has the newest switch design on the laser grip.
From my understanding, the S&W service center will send you a new replacement switch if you ask for it if it doeasn't have it already..
Enjoy, and get us a range report as soon as you can.

congratulations on the huge bargain. You just picked up a $350 pistol for half off. Looks like Santa's coming early.
You must have been a very good guy this past year, that's for sure.

    Gregory

Thanks Gregory, that is what I thought too. Acording to her Sister she bought it just after her Husband left her, about a year ago for personal protection. So I am guessing it is at least a year old.

    Well a quick update:
I am now the proud owner of a S&W Bodyguard 380. Took it to the range today for a very short shake-down. Ran 50 rounds through it and did not have one FTF or FTE, both the iron sights and laser are spot on. For the first time out I was shooting 5 shot groups from 7 and 10 yards with both open & Laser and keeping all 5 shots within a 2" group. It was a little snappier than I expected, but I guess with such a little/light firearm it was not bad. What I really like about it is how easy it is to carry. I have a DeSantis Super Fly Holster and carry it in my left front pocket of my Jeans. (Yes, just like Gearchecker I am left handed) I know the 380 does not have the stopping power of my 40 S&W or 357 Magnum, I guess it is better than a Stick!

I love my Bodyguard! I am amazed at how accurate it is. I like using the laser and I too have had zero FTF. I also am surprised at how quickly it exits my front pocket, I also do not think a 380 is too small for protection, I know I wouldn't like to get hit with it.

Good luck with yours! And way to go on the great deal!

There is nothing that will save your butt faster or better than a 642. Period. If you can't do what you need to do with that then not even a Ma Deuce is going to get you out of it.
