    9 mm target pistol

    I wish Smith would make the 686 in a long-barreled (8-10") 9mm . . .

    How about a 38 super?

If they chambered it in 9x25 Dillon couldn't it handle most of the "9's"? IE 9x25, 9x23, 9x21, .38 Super, 9x19, 9x17/.380 ACP...

With use of moon clips, it could. I think there would be a pretty small market for it.
look up Models 547, 940 and 942, 9MM Parabellum revolvers seem to beg for an answer to "Why?"

It is living a full life in rifles and single shot pistols (T/C Contender) using 180 gr (and even heavier) bullets. Ruger made a #1 in .357 that you could buy cheap a few years ago (I'm always a day late and a dollar short) that I would love to have stretched out to Max length.
    Didn't Federal have a rimmed 9MM for a while?

I just sold A Ruger New Model in 357 Maximum this past Thursday. It's in pretty nice condition.
The buyer's going to have his smithy change it over to Bisley style grips so it'll be a better shooter.
He said the revolver rolls into his hand better when he shoots it.

    Regards,
    Gregory

The average response time for 911 is 20 min., the average response time for .357 magnum is 1400 FPS.
