    New Henry Lever Action Rifles

I was looking at the new Henry Lever Action rifles in .22 and they really look great but I haven't heard much about them. Does anyone have an opinion on these weapons?

I only have second hand stories from either here or the Ruger forum, but the owner had a high opinion of both the rifles and customer service when they had a question.
Having a gun in your hand is much more effective than having the entire police department on the phone.

A Henry is real close to "It's as good as it gets!"
They build all their rifles as much as possible by hand.
    The lockworks are almost flawless.
    They're darned good looking rifles.
They're American made. They're accurate as the devil.
They're heavy compared to nearly every other rifle on the market, of the same caliber!
Balance is excellent to say the least. (Heavy to carry, easy to shoot)
Did I mention they're extremely accurate and exceptionally good looking.
Not much more to say besides, You will never regret spending the extra money on a Henry over any other rifle.
A Henry Rifle is truly in a class by itself.
Teach them the truth, and let them sort thru the cobwebs of liberalism that have infested their minds.
When the time comes that I don't want a new gun, call the undertaker!
When they come for your guns, give them the ammo first!
.45 ACP, Because shooting twice is just plain silly!

Re: New Henry Lever Action Rifles

I love lever action rifles. I have many Marlins and Winchesters. I really liked the brass frame look of the Henry Goldenboy, but I couldn't rationalize another .22 lever action since I already had a Marlin39M that is a really sweet shooter.

Then th e.17 HMR Goldenboy came out. I now had a reason! The gun is beautifully finished. It is made in America with American wood, steel, and brass by Americans. I like that. The action is smoother and easier to cycle than either my Marlin or my Winchester. That says a lot.

The gun is very accurate too. The trigger pull is very good. I put a varmint scope on the rifle just to wring out its accuracy and I could consistently take the head off a squirrel at 100 yards (10 shots in a Ritz cracker at 100 yards).

I highly recommend the Henry lever action rifles!

I view the world the way I see it and I see it over my front sight.

I take the previous three posts as great recommendations from three people who do know their weapons.

Henry and Savage are two companies that I hear nothing but good comments about.

Now when I get around to being more of a rifle than handgun shooter...

Re: New Henry Lever Action Rifles

I want to thank all of you that responded to my "posting". I finally went and bought a rifle. However, it was not the Henry. I looked at the Golden Boy and is it beautiful. A wonderful rifle. In fact it was too beautiful. Not what I would call a "field" rifle. One that could be knocked around and such. I then looked at the standard Henry. What it came down to was two things: one it was too expensive. I had a budget in mind of not spending one penny over $300.00. This was much more. two I just didn't like the feel of it. I guess it was not having a pistol grip. I just didn't like it. I then looked at Savages, Marlins, Brownings et al but they were all too espensive. What I did buy was a CZ 513 "Farmer" bolt action, magazine feed. While not a very exotic name it is certainly utilitarion which is what I was looking for. It is a beautifuly crafted rifle with a wood stock (not laminated) and it has some "heft" to and it just feels right. I will try it out sometime next week. I have been told that CZ makes a quality firearm but have no personal experience with this brand. It was purchased brand new at $299.31 out the door which met my budgetary requirements. Does anyone have any feed back on this brand? Thank you all again for your responses.

Hey guys, If we all pitched in $5 each, sent it to DaveHT for him to secure, we could get Wendy a Brand New Golden Boy for a Wedding present. Wouldn't that be a great gift form the gang?
Who said Wedding Gifts need to be a surprise anyway?

That is a very sweet thought, but I couldn't accept such a gift. What is funny is that here both of us would probably donate the money is going to Toys for Tots, one of both of our favorite charities.
