Armslist online gun sale listings - Any experience with it?

Anybody ever used this? It is like gunbroker, but no feedback on buyers and sellers.

There were two listings for Colt Pythons. One for $800 and the other for $1,500 in Arizona. This is for what appeared to be pristine 2.5 inch guns. Those prices are way too good.

Also, a very old Highway Patrolman, again appeared excellent condition for $475. And there were other dirt cheap prices on some other guns.

The prices were so low, I wonder if there is some total sham going on. If it is too good to be true...

    Hi Dart:

Sorry, but I have no experience with that website...............I Googled it and now have a link to that site.......it'll be interesting to see what it's all about.

I'm with you about, "if it seems to good to be true".............but the place may be worth a "watch and see".

    Best Regards,

    Geezer

Interesting...Seems like a GREAT place to set-up "face-to-face" transactions for sellers and buyers, and NO FFL involved.

This would be a Felon's BIGGEST DREAM, NO background checks, FFL's, NOTHING.....Cash and Carry, Carte Blanche Shopping for deadly weapons over the Internet, almost untraceable.....

"Caveat emptor", AND "caveat venditor" applies, for sure......Wouldn't want to meet some guy in a parking lot, and pay cash for a STOLEN FIREARM, or worse, one that's been used in the commission of a violent crime. A year or so later, you're involved in a "justified shoot" with that weapon, and when they do ballistics on your gun, it shows up as a murder weapon in another state?.....Or, sell someone your old S&W, and the guy leaves the lot, robs a liquor store, shoots the clerk, and drops YOUR LEGALLY REGISTERED-TO-YOU GUN at the crime scene. Wonder how long it'll be before that actually happens?

I wouldn't like it, no proof whatsoever of the transaction, other than a few e-mails from semi-anonymous, freebie e-mail accounts......$25 for an FFL transfer takes away a LOT of "bad ju-ju", and more importantly, leaves a PAPER TRAIL of custody, and HOW and WHEN you disposed of/purchased the firearm.

From an Oklahoma Gun Owners association online....

    Scams on Armslist

Anyone notice a rise of apparent scams on Armslist.I.E. great buys that are always out of state sellers where you send the money and wait for your item. Two I just saw,8 inch Colt Python 750.00 Springfield M1A scout L.I.N.B. 850.00 Give me a break'

"..............a number of references online to GOOD deals.........

I am going to count my pennies for the $15 Registered Magnum at the yard sale today. And go outside and see if the sky is falling yet.

I've done a couple good deals on armslist with reloading items and guns alike, but they were all face to face. I don't know about anywhere else, but private transactions for handguns are perfectly legal here in Ohio. But be VERY aware, there are alot of scams, I almost fell prey to one of those NIB Colt Python's for next to nothing...
I beleive that if sombody is gun savvy enough to know about armslist, gun broker, etc.. then they atleast know what they have, and arn't going to give somting away, but you never know.

As I stated earlier, a "face-to-face" sale, from an unknown person, COULD be an issue....I'm just paranoid, but they ARE out to GET me.

I absolutely agree, that "face-to-face", unregistered sales are legal, in my state as well.......I think it's GREAT that we have that freedom here, just be CAUTIOUS with someone you've never met before, and probably will never see again.....the potential for abuse and trouble could be astronomical.....

I keep a running add on Armslist, and a lot of other sites. I have been warned two times about a guy on Armslist selling Pythons for $600-$800. He advertises in ALL the states and once he gets money sent to his Mail Boxes Etc, he moves to a new box number.
I was told the giveaway is he REFUSES to give his phone number, and will come up with a 100 reasons why.

p.s. with Armslist I ONLY deal in FTF sales.
