    Rare .38 Special headstamps

What are the rare headstamps for .38 Special brass? I know .38-44 is one, but are there others. I was given a milk jug full of .38 Special brass over the weekend, and I found a couple Browning .38 Specials and one that says AMRON. Also there is some with what appears to be military markings. I don't know how rare mine are, but are there any really rare .38 Special headstamps out there?

Hmm, never gave that much thought. You can look up the head stamps here, though:

I had one stamped "9mm", but forgot which brand. I was meaning to post a picture of it, but have to find it again. That's the rarest one I've ever seen.

The .38 Special round has been with us for well over 100 years now.... it's been loaded in alot of different places. There are probably more than 100 headstamps. When you consider that at the turn of the last century we had alot of ammo manufacturers who have since consolidated the variety is stunning. Peters, Union Metallic Cartridge, Remington, Western Tool and Copper, Winchester, Alcan, Savage, US Cartridge, Browning, S&W, Federal, Dominion, Imperial, Kynoch, RWS, Aquila, CDM, the COMMERCIAL list would go on, and on, and on.... and then there would be the MILITARY Aresnals...

LeMat, that rim looks a little smaller than a .38 Special. Could that be a .38 super case?
